Four films and five musicians have been honoured by the Canton of Bern with a prize in 2018. The awards ceremony, with a greeting by Director of the Department for Culture Hans Ulrich Glarner, musical interludes and excerpts from the prize-winning films, is public. Admission is free of charge.
The film prizes go to the documentary “Die Vierte Gewalt” by Dieter Fahrer, produced by Balzli&Fahrer, (20,000 francs), the documentary “Das Leben vor dem Tod” by Gregor Frei, produced by hiddenframe, (15,000 francs), the feature film “I Am truly a Drop of Sun on Earth” by Elene Naveriani, produced by Alva Film, (15,000 francs) and the animation film “Coyote” by Lorenz Wunderle, produced by YK Animation Studio (10,000 francs).
A music prize 2018 in the amount of 15,000 francs was awarded each to the musician and composer Paed Conca (clarinet, bass), the saxophonist Christian Kobi, DJ Sassy J and the musician and composer Björn Meyer (E-bass). The singer Milena Patagônia (Milena Krstic) receives the Coup de Cœur newcomer prize of 3,000 francs.
