Artist applications

Dampfzentrale Bern is a meeting place for innovative, contemporary forms of performance, dance and music. In the ambience of the old industrial complex by the river, we offer our audience exceptional cultural experiences. As a presentation venue, we present guest performances and concerts on our stages. The Haus an der Aare is an interactive breeding ground for artists: Every day, artists rehearse here, exchange ideas with each other and with the audience. Dance in Bern, Saint Ghetto and, since 2022, EXPOP are the focal points of the season’s programme.

The curatorial team receives a large number of requests from artists from Switzerland and abroad and in various artistic fields. We are very pleased that many people/(or)artists would like to show their works and projects with us. Accordingly, we make every effort to consider and respond to all enquiries. Unfortunately, we are not always able to do so, and not without gaps. We reserve the right to seek dialogue with artists who best reflect the profile of the house and our mission. For us, the following criteria are decisive in selecting a programme: quality, aesthetics, independence, audience appeal.
