Dance performances by the globally celebrated Israeli choreographer Sharon Eyal always present stressed, troubled and unrestful souls. It is as if your own fears, desires and paradoxes have been transferred to the unknown bodies on stage. This may sometimes be dark and oppressive, yet liberating and inspirational.
Sharon’s performances are magical total works of art consisting of stirring music, atmospheric lighting and avant-garde costumes. Together with her long-time congenial partner Gai Behar, Sharon presents her latest work «Into the Hairy», which was created in collaboration with the artist, producer and composer Koreless.
Sharon Eyal is one of the most sought-after choreographers of our age. She began her dance career at the legendary Batsheva Dance Company. In 2013, she co-founded the Tel Aviv-based L–E–V Dance Company together with Gai Behar, who was previously active as a party producer and curator of multimedia art events. L-E-V stands for dance explorations that captivate through enormous physical and emotional violence. This reflects the choreographer’s fascination for classical dance and underground club culture.
