Sharings are public rehearsals that bring artists and interested audiences together. Such sharings offer insight into the creative processes of artists who are currently rehearsing at the Dampfzentrale Bern. They show what they are currently working on, what they are occupied with, and what is going on in an uncomplicated setting. Afterwards, the artists welcome discussion with their future audience. The Dampfzentrale Bern dramaturgical team moderates and supervises the sharings.

Simone Aughterlony is doing a technical residency at the Dampfzentrale Bern in January. At Sharing, she offers an insight into her new work “Maintaining Stranger”. In it, Aughterlony creates a biotope of relationships that surrenders to alienation and provides a contrast with the process of getting to know each other and getting closer to each other. The work is an intensive questioning of the “stranger” and of what comes into play when the strangeness of the other has to be preserved and continued.
