The Kingdoms of Elgaland-Vargaland
The monarchs King Michael I and King Leif I and their followers visit the Republic. Carl Michael Von Hausswolff (father of Anna Von Hausswolff) and Leif Elggren are both important representatives of the international noise music scene. Graham Lewis, bassist of the punk legends Wire, and his daughter Klara Lewis, who releases experimental electronic music on the renowned label “Editions Mego”, are also part of the band. The Swedish musician and installation artist Marja-Leena Sillanpäa completes the group.
The Kingdoms Of Elgaland-Vargaland is an art project and micronation in one; it has its own flag and national anthem and issues passports. Elgaland-Vargaland addresses territorial ownership and, like the Slovenian art collective NSK (New Slovenian Art), poses critical questions with a good dose of humour and cynicism.
