When love and all that is associated with it – the wonderful as well as the destructive – is scrutinised for 60 minutes, the audience at Dampfzentrale Bern knows: Sharon Eyal is back in town!

The internationally acclaimed Israeli dancer and choreographer and her company L-E-V have electrified us twice before with their performances. «Chapter 3: The Brutal Journey of the Heart» concludes their trilogy about the serious and complicated issue of love. In Chapter 1, the dancers demonstrated how close love and obsession are sometimes intertwined, while Chapter 2 started where love has already broken into crumbs. Now, «Chapter 3» focuses on the processes of repair and coming to new arrangements. The last part of the trilogy also has the choreographer’s signature written all over it: Explosive dynamics combined with an overwhelming language of movement that appears to be beyond physical explanation.

As with «OCD LOVE» and «LOVE Chapter 2», the music producer Gai Behar and the drummer Ori Lichtik add the live-recorded soundscape to the expressive choreographic images of the dancers. The performance is transformed into an almost intoxicating experience not least due to the intricate costumes that evoke a full-body tattoo aesthetic. They were designed by none other than one of the biggest names in the world of fashion, Dior’s creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri.
