The theme days «it’s not that simple» organised by Schlachthaus Theater and Dampfzentrale use performances, music, panel discussions and a tour of the city to uncover and analyse mechanisms of racist repression. A focus here is on South Africa, also regarded as Africa’s most economically advanced country. At the same time, it is one of the countries with the greatest wealth gap. This is largely due to the consequences of apartheid, in which Switzerland, in particular, was closely involved. How this still has a major impact to this day, how we are all involved in racist constellations, how we deal with racism and how we exercise it ourselves time and time again, is shown by: it’s not that simple.
The programme of the theme days has been selected by Anneli Binder, Ntando Cele, Maike Lex und Tim Zulauf.
The theme days are supported by: netcetera, Gesellschaft zu Zimmerleuten, SüdKulturFonds.
