Satan is taboo. The rebellious angel is the symbol of evil par excellence. But who decides what is considered evil? In SANE SATAN, the final part of the IN PRAISE OF VULNERABILITY trilogy, Vittucci uses humor to examine the stories and images that warn us so vehemently about the devil. As with Maria in HATE ME, TENDER and Eve in DOOM, Teresa and her team search for a new, queer-feminist reading of this dazzling figure from our cultural history. Seductive, monstrous and trapped in the prevailing structures, Satan opens up the potential of becoming an accomplice to all those who are devalued, excluded and oppressed because of their otherness.

Two artists present their pieces in the respective venues, working on similar themes or with related artistic practices. They meet for a 40-minute, free-flowing conversation without a moderator and talk about what occupies them artistically. What drives me? What challenges are you facing? What comes next?

On 1 December, following the performance: conversation between Teresa Vittucci and Milva Stark & Gornaya «Elizabeth – I’m not a Bitch» (SHT).

The combined ticket of the two institutions Schlachthaus Theatre and Dampfzentrale Bern allows to attend both performances.
