«I Dreamt of Fire» is an immersive audiovisual performance by Marie Delprat, a French artist living in Basel, and Tom Lane, a multimedia artist from Hamburg, set in the bureaucratic world of waiting rooms. Through digital simulation and hallucinations, the work explores the tangible feelings of fear and uncertainty that prevail in today’s world.

The performance combines a soundscape of fear and tension with oscillating visual explorations, dreaming its way through a wealth of emotions to ultimately accept and overcome them. Fire has the power to consume and destroy, offering many reasons to fear it. However, it can also be a symbol of light, passion, hope, warmth and new beginnings.

Musician and composer Marie Delprat is an Associated Artist at Dampfzentrale Bern and was part of the SHAPE+ Roster in 2024/25.

Violeta García is a cellist, composer, improviser and curator from Buenos Aires who lives part-time in Bern and is also known in this country for the sweat-inducing concerts of her Latinx experimental grrrl noise-punk rock band Blanco Teta. Lately, she has been playing more hybrid solo sets, applying the extended cello techniques of her new album IN/OUT to create a harmonious blend of minimalist contemporary music and dark ambient sounds.

Regional trap & guilt princess t_fortuna offers high-friction blends and multi-layered club music collages for humid and sticky dancefloor environments. With various aliases since 2018, she performs live sets consisting of her own productions, patchworks, bootlegs and edits, as well as DJ sets in which elements of trip-hop, breakcore and ethereal noise intertwine to take shape as an opaque pop dramaturgy.
