The conflict in Israel/Palestine has polarized the debate on anti-Semitism, antimuslim racism and colonialism – also in Switzerland.

Who can and should publicly talk about which aspects of this multi-layered conflict? Who is involved in the physical and discursive conflict in which way? Who can and who should mourn for whom? Which terms can and should be used – or not?

We all have many questions and uncertainties – yet with different vulnerabilities. At the same time, there are hardly any public spaces in which political, social and personal ambivalences can be negotiated. In a living room atmosphere, experts – who live with/in the conflict due to both their biographies and their professional expertise – share and reflect on their personal experiences, their analyses and their different histories.

This evening is not about a heated political controversy or about convincing others of pure truths and/or particular narratives. Rather, we create an open, empathetic, and multi-voiced space for all those who want to develop and craft relations of solidarity against violence, antimuslim racism and anti-Semitism in Israel/Palestine and Europe.
