Once again this year, the Dampfzentrale Bern is hosting an event organised by the local ballroom community. The Kiki Ball has the motto «The red Umbrella Ball – Sexworkers rights are human rights!» and offers many exciting categories for beginners and advanced dancers.
If you feel ready, you may compete in one or more categories and be judged by the prestigious judges.
Ballroom culture developed in New York in the 70s and 80s as a safe space and subculture for Black and Latinx, queer and trans people. An anti-discriminatory and reflective attitude is also a prerequisite for the audience.
