Full of vigour, the first female politicians entered the Federal Parliament in 1971 and shook up Switzerland’s male-dominated democracy. This was not always easy; sometimes the women’s concerns were considered unheard, sometimes they remained unheard.
In her new book «Unerhört – Die ersten Politikerinnen im Bundeshaus», Fabienne Amlinger examines aspects of women’s entry into the field of federal politics in five essays. The focus is on female members of the National Council, the Council of States and the Federal Council as well as their personal experiences.
The event will be moderated by Anneli Binder.
With an artistic intervention by Swiss poetry slam artist Sandra Künzi.
