«trial & error» sees choreographers showcasing their works in front of a real audience. As the name implies, the emphasis here is on trial and error. The presented works last no longer than 20 minutes and have a basic technical set-up. They might be finished works, rudimentary concepts of full-length productions or an artist’s experimental arrangements.

ROTES VELO: KINDERAUGEN - ein Familienstück

With the family piece KINDERAUGEN the RED VELO company invites children, as well as adults to a performance full of fantasy.

A lost boy, now an old man, lives deep in a cave surrounded by many objects. One day a young girl stumbles upon his kingdom. She sees his fantasy world full of fantastic creations and is enchanted by his youthful imagination and inventiveness. The mismatched pair swap stories, journey through memories of the past, and revel in wishes for the future. With the help of imagination, the two friends begin to discover the mystery of the cave and figure out how to return to an almost forgotten world.

But this universe that the two create is only half of the picture, the rest of the picture is created by the imagination of everyone in the room – regardless of age.

A fairy tale without fairies.

Vera Stierli: Bitte nimm Platz (Aus dem Stück Meeting Another)

This “Slow Intervention” is a series of instructions designed for the individual to experience a shared personal event. It is an invitation to slow down and listen to the body, sound and movement – inspired by the human encounter, the encounter of the other and the unknown. Through this work, audiences can discover new methods to experience live dance art.
