Four short pieces for everyone who enjoys dance. The stage belongs to the dancers: There are no decorations, no opulent costuming , but all the more surprising lighting effects. Every millimetre of the stage is used for dancing: space-consuming, powerful, incredibly precise and technically spot on. Gentle duets alternate with dynamic trios and fast-paced group sequences. Romantic moments change into lively, upbeat scenes. There is something for every dance fan.

Richard Alston, or, since February 2019, Sir Richard Alston to be more precise, is always first inspired by the music. His dialogue of movement weaves the influence of the Cunningham technique with flowing sequences of movements. He works with dancers whose skills are celebrated worldwide. Richard founded this company in 1994 and today they celebrate their twenty fifth anniversary.
«Detour» is by Martin Lawrance – the «Associate Choreographer» of the Richard Alston Dance Company. His dances are sharp, edgy and speedily complex. He has worked successfully with Ballet Black (UK), Scot- tish Ballet (UK) and Ballet Manila (PHL).

Isthmus wurde am 13. April 2012 bei The Place, Robin Howard Dance Theatre for Bob’s Bash, der Geburtstagsfeier von Bob Lockyer, erstmals aufgeführt.
Red Run
Choreografie: Richard Alston. Musik: Heiner Goebbels. Licht: Charles Balfour. Kostüm: Jeffrey Rogador.
Red Run wurde am 28. Januar 1998 im Nottingham Playhouse uraufgeführt. Red Run wurde für das 1998 Holland Dance Festival beauftragt. Mit Unterstützung von der Hattori Foundation.
Detour
Choreografie: Martin Lawrance. Musik: Akira Miyoshi Ripple für Solo Marimba gespielt von Emiko Uchiyama, Michael Gordon vom Album Timber Remixed gespielt von Mantra, Perkussion arrangiert von Jóhann Jóhannsson. Licht: Zeynep Kepekli. Kostüm: Jeffrey Rogador.
Detour wurde am 20. September 2018 am Festival Theatre Edinburgh uraufgeführt. Diese Produktion wurde unterstützt von Festival Theatre Edinburgh.
