I once heard: If an atomic nucleus measured one millimetre in diameter, the radius of an electron would be one hundred metres. What holds them together is unclear. If an electron becomes detached from its parent atom, it travels through space until it comes across a new atom nucleus. The chaos theory says that we can never know in which direction two particles will move directly after an impact. And yet each morning of each day I rely on the sun rising, on finding my pen on my desk in the same spot I left it the night before – that my heart continues to beat.
