As part of Migros Culture Percentage Dance Festival Steps
Institution meets independent scene, contemporary dance meets breaking: Fine Lines and Power: Still Going Strong bring together two choreographies with different artistic backgrounds. Two women whose encounter gets under your skin; two men who have made history with their stories. Both pieces are now coming to Switzerland for the first time and will share a joint evening as part of Steps.

The duet Fine Lines, choreographed by Spanish artist Roser López Espinosa, was created in collaboration with two dancers from Sweden’s Skånes Dansteater. It depicts two extraordinary women who, through their dance, trace the subtle connections that exist between us as human beings.

In doing so, they show how different we are – and yet how close we can be. Fine Lines is a delicate ode to diversity and a powerful call to celebrate each other (more).

The two Dutchmen Lloyd Marengo and Maikel Walker, as well as the Frenchman Bosila Banya, alias B-Boy Junior, are among the pioneers of the breaking scene and inspire countless dancers worldwide. Power: Still Going Strong brings Maikel Walker and B-Boy Junior together on stage for the first time. What sets them apart is their age and physicality. What unites them are incredible moves and infectious energy. Together, they tell their life stories – from childhood to the present day.
