Curious left fist saves chest from falling is a contemporary stage play – or a pop song. And as you would expect from a pop song, it is about relationships, but not exclusively about the construct of a romantic relationship, but rather about an extremely relevant preliminary stage of it: the relationship to one’s own or another’s body and the role of language as its transmitter. The two Bernese dancers and passionate singers Maira Nett and Nina Richard have developed a very specific working method of simultaneously describing and moving the body, in which voice, text and movement are mutually dependent and thus meet at eye level. The result is an improvised duet of two visible bodies and the audible text (lyrics) of the movement taking place. The audience observes the immediate creation of this unconventional pop song. With this work, Maira and Nina deal with the highly controversial topics of body, intimacy and being in public. They are accompanied artistically and musically by sound artist Demian Jakob.

The team of Maira Nett, Nina Richard and Demian Jakob will be in residence at the Dampfzentrale from 8 to 12 July. On Thursday, 11 July, they will be offering a sharing of their current work.
