Schlachthaus Theater and Dampfzentrale Bern offer masterclasses with renowned international artists and local initiatives. These are aimed at theatre and dance professionals from the Bernese and Swiss cultural scene.

The workshop invites reflection on the role of care in creative processes. How can we care for ourselves as artists while also creating spaces that care for others? In the performing arts, creative processes are still largely shaped by ableism: frameworks that assume not only standardized bodies but also standardized rhythms and learning modes. This workshop proposes to explore how to move beyond these exclusionary logics by building environments where each atypicality becomes a source of creation.

The Delta teaching team, together with young participants in the project, will share concrete tools they have put into practice: exercises, methods of collective work, and modes of support adapted to individual specificities. These tools nurture artists within creative processes and open new pathways for working with atypical artists in the performing arts, paving the way for more inclusive creation.

This workshop is open to all performing arts professionals who wish to enrich their practices, question their frameworks, and explore ways of making space for diversity within their artistic and pedagogical projects.
