After «PIXMIX declares a state of (climate) emergency», this is the second collaboration between PIXMIX and Tour de Lorraine. In January 2022, the Tour de Lorraine will once again address the theme of decolonisation as the «Tour Décolonial».
«Let’s decolonise our heads and hearts and turn the world from its upside down to its feet!»
Where does «our» prosperity come from? And why is it so unequally distributed globally?
At the Tour de Lorraine 2022, we are explicitly asking these questions from a postcolonial perspective, thus placing the margin at the centre. Switzerland, too, has a colonial history that is visible today in our society, our politics and our prosperity. We ask ourselves why this world order is taken so for granted. How are these identities formed? In which social structures is racism still reproduced today and to what end?
Therefore, on the occasion of the «Tour Décolonial», we will follow various experiential paths in Bern and Switzerland. At the same time, we will explore emancipatory struggles from the past and today and examine our (white) privileges. In this way equipped, we want to better understand how the colonial past still influences our coexistence today and how we can work together against it.
