Alexandra Bachzetsis’ new solo project is a profound and pleasurable exploration of the performer’s own biography.

Themes such as lust, sexuality, excess, innocence, pain and transience are negotiated in the form of performative notes that transform into a plurality of voices, images, bodies and objects. The notebook represents an indispensable companion of the artistic process: It is a private archive of creative work as well as a repository of ideas for imagined future projects and thus reflects Bachzetsi’s artistic affinity for the fragmentary, the sketchy, the unfinished in creative and performative thought processes.

In “Notebook” the body becomes the bodily archive of other bodies, the most subversive form of presentation of experience as well as a place of permanent mediation between past and present, event and documentation, liveness and mediality, originality and citativeness.
