«arms (not weapons)» is an accessible dance performance that blends pop, language and movement. The performers describe their bodies, movements and sensations in simple language, familiar from pop songs and audio description. Body parts become links: amidst fragments of pop culture, new refrains emerge in which meanings shift, are unmasked and transform into the absurd or something else entirely. In this way, the work opens up new images of physicality, care and desire — clear, accessible, poetic and with humour.
