Winkelmann/Popall

Marie Popall (she/her) *1990 in Berlin, is a performer and artist. She studied Expanded Theatre at the Berne University of the Arts HKB. In her works on the intersection of theatre, dance and performance, she questions the political in the imaginative. She collaborates with artists from various disciplines. As part of the Moschini/Popall duo, she was part of the Danse & Dramaturgie CH programme and performed throughout Switzerland in the productions «Soft Tissue» (in co-production with Dampfzentrale Bern, ROXY Theater Birsfelden, Südpol Luzern and Fabriktheater Rote Fabrik Zürich) and «When mama was moth, I took bulb form».

Saskia Winkelmann (she/her) *1990 in Thun, is an author, DJ and event organiser. She has been organising the Berner Sofalesungen since 2022. She studied Literary Writing in Biel and Bern and Language Arts at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna. She was part of the Tojo Theatre Collective at the Reitschule Bern from 2015 to 2020. Her texts have appeared in various literary magazines, on stage and on a record cover. In April 2023, she published her first novel «Höhenangst», which was awarded a literary prize by the Canton of Berne in the same year, with the Biel-based publishing house Brotsuppe. She lives in Bern.
