Production managers Maxine Devaud & Kathrin Walde and performer Ntando Cele will alternately be on hand and online to answer all questions concerning artistic development.
Why?
Together we want to support professional structures of cultural workers.

Every Thursday from 5 to 7 pm.

The offer is free of charge and open to interested people of all art forms.

Ntando Cele
Ntando Cele was born in South Africa and is based in Berne, Switzerland. She studied acting in Durban and has a MA in Theatre from DasArts, Amsterdam. In her performances with Manaka Empowerment Prod. (established 2014) she uniquely blurs the boundaries between physical theatre, video installation, stand-up comedy and performance.
She has given several workshops and talks on self-healing and black empowerment and currently working on inviting fellow black artists to discuss matters of racial freedom and the limitations artists of colour on European stages.
Maxine Devaud
Maxine Devaud grew up in Fribourg (CH). After studying photography for two years at the Ecole Cantonale d’Art de Lausanne (ECAL), she studied musicology and art history at the University of Basel. As a violinist, she was a member of the Swiss Youth Symphony Orchestra for many years. From 2014 to 2017, she worked as an assistant director on opera and theater productions at the Zurich Opera House, Theater Basel and Konzert Theater Bern. After a year in Berlin as production assistant for the independent opera company Novoflot, she founded the production office Maxinthewood Productions in 2018 and currently works in Switzerland as production manager in the field of performing arts for various artists* and companies.
Kathrin Walde
Kathrin Walde lives in Basel. After training as a remedial teacher in Bern, she worked at Theater Ramba Zamba in Berlin during the 2007/08 season as assistant director and guest performance coordinator, among other positions. From 2011 to 2014 she worked at Theater im Park (Basel) as production assistant. In 2014, she completed the CAS Cultural Management at the Stapferhaus Lenzburg. Since then she has worked as a freelance production manager for various dance and theater companies in German-speaking Switzerland, including MESH, Alessandro Schiattarella, Time for Change, PRODUKTION HEINIGER/FORRER and Firma für Zwischenbereiche. In the 2016/17 season she was engaged as production manager at Vorstadttheater Basel. She conceptualized the project KulturHub which offers free project consultations for cultural professionals in the rooms of ROXY Birsfelden. Likewise, she coaches young aspiring production directors in their first projects and supports them on their way to becoming production directors. Since 2021, she is be teaching the course “Project Management for Cultural Professionals” at Kulturmarkt Zürich.
