This panel is a get together from members of the collectives OKRA, Helvetiarockt, Sooriyan, Forcefield Records Red Brick Records and more. The question we center in this round is how we can develop sustainable professionalism in the music business without loosing the perks and beauty of working as an independent political and artistical group. What do we need to survive this system of patriarchal capitalism as an autonomous collective without burning out or loosing our joy? A big question with no answer ahead requires us to think outside of our collective structures, to boycott gatekeeping and to form alliances in our community. We sit together and share stories, exchange strategies, and build new connections.
Forever Overhead is the meeting of head and sky, the space in between where boundaries fade away and anything seems possible. Seeking to recapture the utopian imagination of childhood wastelands, the brother-sister duo explores the infinite variations of composition and improvisation, weaving a pop-folk-experimental landscape rich in contrasts and ambitious harmonies. With two voices and playing every instrument they encounter, their music is made up of suspended moments where sweetness rubs shoulders with the strange, and nothing ever feels quite ordinary.
Emerging artist Alexia Thomas invites listeners on a surreal, immersive journey with her debut album,«Based on a Dream». Exploring the boundary between reality and fantasy, Alexia crafts an auditory landscape where daydreams unravel questions of existence: Where does reality end, where does fantasy begin, and what lies in between? Through cinematic dream-pop, Alexia combines electronic and acoustic sounds to evoke a multidimensional experience, underscoring themes of emotionality and identity.
Lisheva blends electronic pop and experimental beats into bass-heavy songs. Intimate songwriting is carried by unique textures and grooves, passages drift off into detailed sound design. The voice entangles melody and meaning.
The lyrics are rich in symbolism and bare feelings that the singer and producer uncovers through the writing process. Lisheva views her music as a transformative tool for understanding aspects of her existence and identity that are yearning to be named.
Angy Kumuli is a DJ and producer who blends electronic sounds with the vibrant energy of the Caribbean. They bring an organic touch to electronic music, creating high BPM beats that resonate like a call to dance.
