Trained to be a dancer at The Royal Ballet School in London, Adam Linder today blends dance, performance and visual art into a distinctive choreographic language. In «Drip Tekhne», he creates a poetic narrative of the evolution. During four phases, the body undergoes a transformation, from primal animal bodies through hybrid mechanical ones to socialised individuals. In the end, bodies and movements merge in a visually striking performance into a collective dance.
| Dampfzentrale: We admit: we heart Adam’s work. Therefore we simply have to present his technically outstanding performances on our stage, as there is hardly anyone who understands movement as intelligently, sensually and unexpectedly as Adam does. Images that leave a lasting impression emerge from the simplest gestures. Suddenly, the human body appears completely removed from reality, only to become radically present moments later, vulnerable yet full of strength. «Drip Tekhne» celebrates the magic of dance. |
The texts for this year’s Tanz in Bern draw from two sources: firstly, what the artists themselves write about their productions, and secondly, why each performance was curated for the festival with the theme of «Mensch!».
