Spoken languages in the performance: dialect and written German

Moumouni and Buser merge into one person in COLD. This person embarks on a wild trip.
The goal: to escape her inner detachment from the world and herself. Dulled and sleepless, she wanders through newly built apartments and glacial lakes, wellness hotels and stinking swamps – as well as through her own steaming head. Don’t give in to indifference! But how to plunge into world events without burning up?

Politically heated moods, melting poles, social coldness – the second program of the duo, which was awarded the Salzburger Stier, confronts urgent topics and seeks a poetic as well as humorous way of dealing with them.

After their successes as playwrights for the plays Bullestress and Ich chan es Zündhölzli azünde at the Schauspielhaus Zurich, COLD is a return to joint spoken word performance – the discipline with which they have graced various stages since 2014, becoming German-speaking poetry slam champions and winning the 2022 Salzburger Stier.

«Fatima Moumouni and Laurin Buser write texts full of linguistic presence of mind, fine self-irony and lyrical explosions» – Jury Salzburger Stier.
