Blood – we humans carry up to six litres of it within us. Whether we are dancing, thinking or resting – this special fluid is constantly flowing through us and keeping us alive. Even though it exists in different blood groups and varying compositions, this vital fluid makes us all equal as living, mortal beings. This makes solidarity with one another all the more important, as four out of five people will need blood or medicines derived from blood at some point in their lives. That is why we are inviting people to donate blood at this year’s Tanz in Bern. After the festival closes for the evening, the team from the Interregional Blood Donation Service of the Swiss Red Cross will transform the festival centre into a mobile blood donation centre and welcome everyone, whether first-time donors or regulars.
