As President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Mirjana Spoljaric Egger is in charge of one of the most important organisations operating in global conflict and crisis zones. A graduate in philosophy and former Swiss diplomat, she has been working in highly complex geopolitical contexts for decades and is confronted with immeasurable suffering. Barbara Bleisch asks how humanity can be upheld in conditions of war and violence, how neutrality can be maintained when international law is trampled underfoot, and how one manages not to despair in the face of human brutality.

«Honest, open dialogue has become precarious,» says the well-known philosopher Barbara Bleisch. After three successful years, the intensive discussions with inspiring personalities on topics that drive society are entering their next edition. Once again, the stage belongs to Barbara Bleisch four times a year. Each time, she meets an inspiring personality of her choice from the worlds of culture, politics, art and science to discuss current affairs. In 90-minute conversations, uncomfortable topics are addressed and questions are brought to a close – fabulously, honestly and without spectacle.
