bar italia
bar italia is a band from London that released its first recordings in 2020 on Dean Blunt’s World Music label, among others. Over the past two years, the London trio has released two critically acclaimed albums on the Matador label (home to Kim Gordon, Circuit Des Yeux, Belle and Sebastian, among others) within a span of just a few months: Tracey Denim and The Twits. They have toured the world, headlining shows from Istanbul to Tokyo, playing sold-out multiple shows in New York and Los Angeles, and appearing at festivals including Glastonbury and Coachella. With over 160 shows worldwide in 2023–2024, bar italia has become an extroverted and powerful five-piece band equally adept at firing up mosh pits and moments of tense silence.
In October, the band’s fifth long player will be released, also on Matador. bar italia will play their only Swiss concert as part of their European album tour at Dampfzentrale.
