CURRENT CURRENTS seeks to bring individuals together without necessarily forming a group. Through a collage of intimate tableaux where performed acts and documentary scenes are mixed, the five dancers share through their bodies and singing what is going through them about current societal issues.

Trained in contemporary dance or hip hop, the dancers take turns in the center of the stage to present themselves, to show us what they like, what they are thinking about. They talk, they dance, they sing, they look at each other and rest. They ask themselves questions… How do you introduce yourself to the other? How does one look at the other? How do we build ourselves while the other is watching us? How do we allow ourselves to be in attempt in front of others and an audience?

CURRENT CURRENTS tries to go against the permanence of the spectacular and the hyper-exposure of oneself by proposing moments of non-representation, of calm, of tenderness, of fragility. What if the sum of the parts was greater than the whole?
