Even a single bus driver can become a millionaire. At least that’s what the much-praised myth of «from dishwasher to milionaire» wants. Journalist Ciani-Sophia Hoeder counters this with her book «Vom Tellerwäscher zum Tellerwäscher». In it, she describes how social advancement is far from easy. What obstacles do Working Poors face? And what about the postulate of equal opportunities in the education system?
Barbara Bleisch talks to Ciani-Sophia Hoeder about poverty, shame and the entanglement of class with other forms of discrimination. The discussion focuses on the reasons for unequal educational opportunities, which are often dismissed as personal failure, and asks what is needed to realise equal opportunities.

«Honest, open dialogue has become precarious,» says the well-known philosopher Barbara Bleisch. After three successful years, the intensive discussions with inspiring personalities on topics that drive society are entering their next edition. Once again, the stage belongs to Barbara Bleisch four times a year. Each time, she meets an inspiring personality of her choice from the worlds of culture, politics, art and science to discuss current affairs. In 90-minute conversations, uncomfortable topics are addressed and questions are brought to a close – fabulously, honestly and without spectacle.
