aya

aya is a musician, producer, performer and DJ. In her work, she is primarily concerned with the transfigurative power of experience and memory on the physical body.

aya’s debut LP im hole was released on 22 October 2021 by Hyperdub and developed into a style-defining record of ASMR whispered vocals, diffuse lyrics, experimental grime, club music and not to forget: a lot of technical skill. At the same time, aya developed a unique live presence, where she deconstructs the concept of audience and stage artist in a curious and humorous way – a practice that is also intensively cultivated and rethought by the artistic circle in Manchester around the White Hotel in Salford City (Blackhaine, Iceboy Violet, Rainy Miller).

aya’s second LP hexed will also be released on Hyperdub in March 2025.

Rainy Miller presents Joseph, What Have You Done

After his very intense, immersive and impressive performance at Full Of Lava 2023, Rainy Miller returns to Dampfzentrale Bern with a new album and accompanying conceptual live show. Rainy Miller is a musician, performer, DJ and producer with a knack for creating beautiful melodic moods and deliberately emotional and brute moments.

His compositions combine and transcend genres such as pop, rap, grime, ambient and club music; they can be touching and disturbing at the same time. With his debut album Limbs, which Miller released in 2015 on his then newly founded label Fixed Abode, the artist began to focus entirely on himself musically and thematically in order to inspire and liberate himself. This radically introspective, honest and emotive style has since become a central part of his work. With Desquamation (Fire, Burn. Nobody), Rainy Miller released an album in the winter of 2022 that brought him closer to a broader niche audience. The next release, Joseph, What Have You Done, will follow at the beginning of 2025, where listeners can once again expect a beautifully curated combination of different musical styles and moods.

Tom Boogizm (DJ set)

Well-known in Greater Manchester and beyond, producer and DJ Tom Boogizm (aka Rat Heart), who often seems to operate in obscurity, has cemented his reputation as an uncompromising musical force in recent years. His releases as Rat Heart form a unique sound palette ranging from house, rap, post-punk, funk and compositional elements to highly personalised, bruised soul music that sounds like it was created with rudimentary equipment in a bedroom in south Manchester. The releases are usually released unannounced in the form of tapes and vinyls on his label Shotta Tapes, each of which achieves cult status almost immediately after release and often sells out very quickly. Also worth mentioning here are the collaborations with Michael J. Blood, with whom he founded the BodyTronixxx label in 2021. Tom Boogizm will play a DJ set at Dampfzentrale after the concerts by aya and Rainy Miller.
