In this programme, Jessie Marino and Daniel Zea play in completely different ways with our expectations of what we experience in a concert.
In Marino’s piece, we become part of a surreal underwater world in which creatures of wondrous identity fluidly adapt their means of communication to their environmental conditions.
Zea’s work moves fluidly between genre boundaries and rituals of music reception, with the score being generated live anew for each performance. It picks up on club beats and rhythms from Cuban dance music, and one thing is certain: wearing comfortable shoes is an advantage!
