The performance on Monday, January 29, 10:00 a.m. is a school performance, but is also open to all interested parties in advance and at the box office on site.
Two dancers and a musician meet. Their biographies are as complex as they are different, but all three have experienced the feeling of not belonging. On stage, they challenge each other to overcome their own boundaries. To succeed, they need active support – from each other and from the audience. They form a choir of moving bodies, a sounding, cracking, singing ensemble that makes hidden stories heard. They talk about their search for roots, their desire to belong and to support each other. The audience is involved in the middle of the action and becomes an active part of the performance by singing and dancing along. In this way, they have a decisive influence on the outcome of the attempt to experience a «community of solidarity».
The new, participatory dance piece by Rebecca Weingartner SOLIDARITY! deals with the current and urgent topic of belonging and has set itself the vision of creating a temporary community in the theater space in which all people feel they belong, wherever they come from.
